Abstract

We report preliminary results of investigations of the YbxY1-xInCu4 alloy system. The valence transition is detected for x > 0.85 by thermopower as well as by resistivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements. For these concentrations in the high-T phase as well for x<0.85 at all temperatures, the susceptibility shows Curie-Weiss behavior. We compare and discuss our experimental results with available theories for a description of the high temperature phase of YbInCu4.
